The annual ‘get-together’ was held for our contacts on the 17th March in the Parish Rooms – the reward for their support, a nice glass of wine (or two!) and some nibbles.
The evening as always was well supported and made particularly interesting by a demonstration by the Trent First Responder Group who provide invaluable ‘back-up’ to Nottinghamshire’s Ambulance Service in the event of emergencies in the Rushcliffe area.
Whilst not pretending to be crime free in Tollerton, the scheme that we operate plays a major part in ensuring that the incidence is kept to a minimum and over the years has become the envy of many adjacent villages who have tried to emulate our systems.
So what is our success? Firstly, we have approaching 200 contacts around the village to whom we can send email messages of incidents within Rushcliffe that could impact on both home and personal security. Every road within our village has a contact. We have regular communication with the Police whose financial resources are becoming increasingly stretched.
If you are not already recorded as being one of our contacts why not register your name and email address with Barbara Storrie (email@example.com)? And who knows you could be enjoying a glass of wine (or two) with us in 2017!
